Tires

The Maxxis Aspen is one of our premier XC race tires. A low center tread height allows the Aspen to roll quickly but substantial – for XC – side knobs provide cornering traction.
Greg Minnaar’s signature tire – the Maxxis Assegai – provides tenacious, predictable grip across the entire profile no matter the lean angle. The Assegai can be used front and rear for a surefooted feel or as a front paired with a faster rolling rear tire. Rubber: Dual compound (best for dry, hard conditions) 3C MaxxTerra (best for mixed conditions) 3C MaxxGrip (best for soft, wet conditions) Casings: 60 TPI + EXO (general trail use) EXO+ (heavy duty trail use) DoubleDown (enduro use) Downhill (DH race, bike park, gravity) Wide Trail (WT) sizes are optimized for 30-35mm inner width rims Tubeless Ready specs are denoted with a “TR” in the tables below Category: Trail, Enduro, Downhill Recommended use: All trail, enduro, and downhill conditions Recommended installation: Front

Designed in conjunction with Aussie DH racer Troy Brosnan, the Dissector seeks to minimize drag while retaining cornering control. This versatile tire can be used as a front, a pair, or as a rear depending on trail conditions.
The new version of the Maxxis Forekaster is aimed squarely at modern short travel (100mm-130mm) trail bikes – aka the “downcountry” segment. Intended to be a “Goldilocks” tire, the new Forekaster (released July 2022) rolls faster than a Minion or even the Dissector but provides more predictable cornering, climbing, and braking traction than the Aspen or Rekon.
The original Forekaster was designed as a wet weather option for XC, while the new version is aimed squarely at modern short travel (100mm-130mm) trail bikes - aka the “downcountry” segment. Intended to be a “Goldilocks” tire, the new Forekaster rolls fast but also provides solid cornering and braking traction in a broad range of trail conditions.
Maxxis’ all-purpose road race tire receives a refresh for 2021 with a new lighter weight casing, upgraded puncture protection, and a revised tread pattern. The result is a lighter, faster, and more durable High Road.
With numerous race wins under its belt and untold miles of backroad adventures, the Rambler is our most popular gravel offering. Tightly-packed center knobs are ramped for rolling efficiency on hardpack roads and asphalt. The cornering knobs are spaced farther apart for control in variable conditions.
The Maxxis Rekon Race is a semi-slick XC race tire that features the lowest profile tread in our XC line. It is a great choice for dry XC trails and short track racing.

LIGHTER, GRIPPIER, FASTER. The ‘turbo’ of spike tires. With up to 402 spikes it bites firmly into icy roads. The tungsten carbide core of each spike is clad in weight-saving aluminum. The tire remains agile and sporty. Brand new studded tires must be ridden around 40km on asphalt roads without heavy acceleration and braking. This 'bed-in period' will ensure studs are fully set, after which, the studded tires can be used normally. - Lighter, grippier, faster - The ''Turbo'' of spike tires - Agile and sporty - Please note, in order to ensure that spikes are permanently fixed, tires should be run in for about 40km (25 miles) on asphalt, while avoiding any fast acceleration or heavy braking.
